IT’S TIME FOR ALL AMERICANS TO RESPECT PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA

While I have absolutely no problem whatsoever with the killing of Osama Bin Laden by a team of US Navy Seals, I find myself a bit disappointed that it has taken the killing of a human being, evil though he may have been, for many GOP elected officials and leaders and other Americans to accept the fact that Barack Hussein Obama II is the President of the United States, with all the authority and powers of the office.

Forget the emotional “I Feel Your Pain” pathos of Bill Clinton. Push away the distasteful memories of the “Bring It On” faux machismo of George W. Bush. Give me the cool, calm, rational, intellectual approach of Barack Obama anytime, anyplace, in any situation. I’m not saying that he’s infallible; no one is. But, what I will say is that his ability to multi-task – just look at last Wednesday-Saturday for irrefutable proof – and do it without revealing anything he doesn’t want you to know is simply A-MAY-ZING. I can’t imagine what it must be like to play poker against him.

It’s sad that it’s taken the killing of Bin Laden for some people on the “other side” to finally give the 44th President of the United States the respect that should have been his from the moment he took the oath of office on January 20, 2009.

On the other hand, perhaps those who have opposed virtually all of his positions and policies over the last 2 & ½ years, those who are currently jockeying to run against him next year, and those who opine against him over the airwaves, blogosphere, and in print, will finally come to the realization that Barack Obama is the right person to lead our country during these difficult times.
