Meg Whitman“As God is my witness, I thought we’d gotten the housekeeper through eBay!”

“We have made progress over the last 20 months. And that is the progress that you worked so hard for in 2008. Now, we didn’t get everything done. Sometimes people say, well, you know, this item is not done and that idea — well, I’ve only been here two years, guys. If you look at the checklist, we’ve already covered about 70 percent, so I figured I needed to have something to do for the next couple of years.” – President Barack Obama at a recent speech at the University of Wisconsin at Madison.

“They have definitely crossed the line and this is unprecedented. This is unprecedented ass kissing.” – Hall of Famer and TNT basketball analyst Charles Barkley during a recent radio interview where he ripped ESPN for reporting on the Heat training camp every day and catering to LeBron James.

Think President Barack Obama isn’t a brilliant politician? Can you imagine what would most likely be going on in Democratic Party circles if instead of being Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton was still in the Senate and able to criticize his policies and current poll numbers? Of course, she could still resign next year and challenge him again in 2012 but, frankly, after the bruising she and Billy-boy took during the last race, particularly in the African-American community and how hard both have worked to redeem themselves and repair their reputations since, I just don’t see that happening.

Of course Lindsey Graham has changed his tune on the so-called Tea Party. He’s from South Carolina and has already been under fire for voting to confirm both of President Obama’s Supreme Court nominees among other things.

I can’t help but wonder if Ellen DeGeneres would be so “outraged” if it had been a straight college student who took his own life Ellen’s Emotional Plea: Stop Teenage Bullying.

With 500 million “friends”, if Facebook were a country, it’d be the third-largest in the world.

What the hell was Rick Sanchez thinking? Oh that’s right, he WASN’T thinking! His only hope for ever getting another major media gig is to say, “Sorry folks, but I was drunk out of my mind when I said those crazy-ass things the other day” and get himself straight to rehab.

Am I the only one who’s not that impressed that Lil’ Wayne released a new album while in prison? I mean, Tupac’s been dead since 1996 and has released, what, about 10 albums since.

I for one, believe in the power of redemption. Is Michael Vick fully redeemed for what he did? Hard to say. But, he’s doing all the right things so far. It’s been said that the true measure of one’s character isn’t how they handle success but how they handle success, then failure. If that’s true, the real test for Michael Vick will come when he has his first bad game or the Eagles lose one with him at QB.ael Vick will be his first bad game or loss this season. He has two interviews airing on Sunday – one on the NFL Network and the other with Pam Oliver on FOX.

I wonder if Roy Williams even entertained the thought of instead of sticking teammate Dez Bryant with a $54K dinner tab to show the rookie his “place”, asking the player to make a donation to a food bank in the Dallas metropolitan area? I mean, $54,000 would help a LOT of needy families.

At some point, LeBron James is going to have to cut Maverick Carter loose. He just has to.

Anyone who really knows me, knows that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE baseball and as a lifelong fan of the game in general and certain players in particular – Willie Mays IS the greatest player of all-time and I wore my Little League uniform like Frank Robinson -, I’m extremely impressed with what Derek Jeter has done during his career as a Yankee and what pitcher C. C. Sabathia (a 20 game winner this season and the first American-American to do so since Dontrelle Willis won 20 for the Florida Marlins in 2005) is doing for one of the last teams to integrate after Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier in 1947.
