Obama No Regrets Mosque

In Columbus, Ohio on Wednesday

“I do believe that people of all religions have a right to build edifices, or structures, or places of religious worship or study where the community allows them to do it under zoning laws and that sort of thing, and that we don’t want to turn an act of hate against us by extremists into an act of intolerance for people of religious faith. And I don’t think it should be a political issue. It shouldn’t be a Republican or Democratic issue, either. I believe Gov. Christie from New Jersey said it well, that this should not be in that political, partisan marketplace.” – Former Bush Solicitor General and 9/11 widower Ted Olson (his wife Barbara aboard American Airlines Flight 77, the plane that was hijacked and flown in the Pentagon).

“I’m amused with their comments about obstructionism.  I wish we had been able to obstruct more.  They were able to get the health care bill through.  They were able to get the stimulus through.  They were able to get the financial reform through.  These were all major pieces of legislation, and if I would have had enough votes to stop them, I would have.” – Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky.

“There are very smart media members and plenty of dumb asses. Same in my profession — some very smart people and some dumb asses. By far my biggest frustration is what I see as a hypocrisy. The media wants us to be accessible, honest and forthright. But when we are, we get destroyed. It’s like you want us to talk so you can kill us. Don’t get me wrong. I don’t mind if people kill my ideas. I think it’s interesting when people disagree. I mean the people who say I should just shut up and coach. Fine. Then don’t ask us any questions.” – Orlando Magic coach Stan Van Gundy.

“I would not. I personally don’t want my players to be around that. I don’t want to be around that. It’s hard for me to be around that, and if I were in charge, no, I wouldn’t hire someone like that. Now, I’ve been around ‘F’ bombs, so it’s not like it’s new. But I just don’t think that has to be part of your every-minute, everyday vocabulary to get your points across.” – Former NFL coach Tony Dungy when asked on Monday’s Dan Patrick Show if he would hire Jets coach Rex Ryan, known for his frequent use of profanity when addressing his players.

“They still have to kiss the ring.” – Laker owner Jerry Buss making it clear that despite his daughter Jeanie being completely in charge of the business side of the Lakers and his son Jim having about 80% of the input personnel decisions, he remains the ultimate decision maker for the team that he’s owned since 1979.

Dr. Laura To END Radio Show After N-Word Rant

“Me and a couple of my girlfriends were out in Vegas a while back and we were partying at Tao. We’re sitting there getting our groove on, knocking back shots of Patron, when this really huge ‘N-word’, – I think he was a NBA player but I can’t be sure, they all look-alike – came up to me and said, ‘Hey baby, you want to see what a big N-word d**k looks like?’ And I said sure, you big Mandingo warrior, that’s exactly what the doctor wants. So, I took him up to my suite and let me tell you, that ‘N-word’ gave the doctor a good dose of his medicine, if you know what I mean. Like Jay-Z says, ‘I got 99 problems but a big d**ked ‘N-word’ ain’t one. Holla!”

Obama’s mosque duty

A president has duties to the citizens he serves — including Muslim citizens.

Calif Palin Contract

“Can anyone tell me what it says on my hand? I can’t read my own chicken scratch!”

Jerry Buss says this might be his best Lakers team, and that’s saying a lot

The Lakers owner is looking forward to squaring off against the reloaded Miami Heat with LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. ‘Quite honestly, I think we can beat them,’ Buss says. I’m not going to argue with the good Doctor but, these are my favorite Laker teams under his ownership: 1981-82 Los Angeles Lakers Roster and Statistics | – Went 12-2 in playoffs (first round bye due to best record in Western Conference) and Los Angeles Lakers 1984-1985 Regular Season and Playoffs, Summary and All the Scores – 62-20 in regular season and beat the Celtics in Boston to win the title.

Well, that $1 million donation from News Corp (parent company of Fox News) to the Republican Governors Association should clear up any lingering doubts about the validity of “fair and balanced”.

Whenever I see Sarah Palin trying to answer any question that doesn’t come from a friendly Fox News “reporter” or anchor or an adoring supporter, she reminds me of an unprepared high-school student trying to bluff her way through an oral pop quiz. Her incoherence, surpassed only by her ignorance, is an ongoing testament to the wide gulf between her self-righteous confidence and knowledge of factual material. She not only revels in her stupidity, but she’s openly contemptuous of those more intelligent and educated than she can ever hope to be.

Why do I get the feeling that people like Glen Beck and Rush Limbaugh don’t believe even 10% of the crap they say over the airwaves and are just laughing themselves to the bank?

Until last week, I had no idea that “Dr Laura” was still on the air and I’ll bet not many others did either.

I applaud Tony Dungy for what he said about Rex Ryan’s profane language.

It’s starting to look more and more that Lance Armstrong may have to change the name of his foundation from “Livestrong” to “Liestrong, Lielong”.
